About Lamu-West Constituency

Lamu West constituency is one of the two constituencies in Lamu County (county code 005). The constituency code as per the IEBC is 005. It has a total population of approximately one hundred and twenty -one thousand, six hundred and sixty-two (121,662) according to the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census.

Lamu West Constituency has seven wards including: Shella/Manda, Mkomani, Hindi, Mkunumbi, Hongwe, Witu and Bahari Ward. The constituency is composed of a main land and 3 islands. The islands are Amu(mkomani), shella-manda and matondoni-kipungani island.Most of the people in the area are Muslims while Christianity follows second with other minor religions occurring third.
